Hyderabad: On Wednesday, May 2, in the Osmania University ‘fake info’ case, Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) spokesperson Manne Krishank was sent to a 14-day judicial custody by the East Maredpally court.

While traveling from Kothagudem to Hyderabad, Manne Krishank was arrested by the police at the Pathangi toll gate and subsequently transferred to the Osmania University police station.

The police had filed a case against the BRS spokesperson based on a complaint lodged by the OU chief warden of hostels and mess. The complaint alleged that Krishank had created and circulated fake circulars regarding the closure of hostels and mess at the Osmania University.

BRS Slams Development

BRS party strongly criticized the recent development, denouncing what they perceived as a blatant infringement on the freedom of opposition party leaders, particularly during the ongoing implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha polls.

“The Model Code of Conduct is in force due to the General elections, yet the Congress ‘Praja Palana’ in Telangana is blatantly restricting the freedom of opposition party leaders. Is this a fair election if an opposition leader cannot even move freely in the state or conduct a press conference at their party office? A police officer entered the car of our Party’s Social Media Convenor and Spokesperson, Manne Krishank, and the police appear to have detained him unlawfully and without cause. We hope @ECISVEEP @SpokespersonECI takes note of this and promptly takes action,” the party stated in a post on X.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) criticized the Congress government for its actions.
