Rahul Gandhi stated that in Telangana, Congress has demonstrated that BJP and BRS are aligned, and if anyone is effectively opposing, it is the Congress party.
On Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asserted that a covert coalition exists between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the Lok Sabha polls. He maintained that his party serves as the genuine opposition force.
At an election rally in Odisha’s Kendrapara, the Congress leader remarked, “Telangana mein, BJP aur BRS ne shaadi ki, har roz ek baraat nikalti thi, aur unki roz ki natakbazi hoti thi. Congress ne dikhaya ki Telangana mein BJP aur BRS ek hain. Agar koi sach mein vipaksh ki kam kar raha hai, toh woh Congress party hai.”
Gandhi asserted that the ‘5 guarantees’ played a crucial role in overthrowing BRS and facilitating the establishment of a Congress government in the state. “We introduced five guarantees, ensuring direct monetary assistance to the impoverished citizens of Telangana into their bank accounts. While the BRS leaders favored a select few, we pledged equal financial benefits to all citizens. Consequently, BRS suffered defeat while Congress emerged victorious in the Assembly elections, paving the way for our government formation,” stated the former Congress chief.
Congress BJP failed to fulfil their promises: KCR
Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao lambasted the ruling Congress and BJP on Saturday, alleging their failure to fulfill promises made to the people. He called upon voters to ensure victory for his party, BRS, in the Lok Sabha polls to “advocate for the people’s interests.”
Addressing a roadshow in the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha constituency, he accused the Congress of seizing power in the state through deceptive promises and misinformation.
Call it a partnership or marriage, BJD and BJP are together: Rahul Gandhi
Earlier on Sunday, Gandhi addressed an election rally in Salepur, Cuttack, where he alleged that while PM Narendra Modi runs a government catering to billionaires from Delhi, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik leads an administration that prioritizes “selected individuals” in Odisha.
Gandhi claimed that despite appearing to be adversaries, the BJD and BJP were actually in alliance. “Whether you call it a partnership or marriage, both BJD and BJP are united,” he asserted.
Taking a dig at Patnaik, Gandhi remarked that despite holding the chief ministerial position, the BJD government in the state is being controlled by his aide VK Pandian.
In an apparent reference to PM Modi, Gandhi stated, “Uncle-ji and Naveen-babu have given Odisha PAANN, which stands for Pandian, Amit Shah, Narendra Modi, Naveen Patnaik. They have plundered your wealth.”
